Member and Her Husband Lose Weight and Begin an Active Lifestyle with Personal Training
Sue and her husband both struggled with their weight and overall health. Due to their “desk jobs,” they were both fairly sedentary. Sue began working out with Scott Elichek three years ago. After seeing the glowing reports Sue received from her doctor, her husband also began sessions with Scott. Now they both have sessions with Scott four times per week.
“Our trainer, Scott Elicheck, is motivating and highly knowledgeable. I have managed to avoid back surgery which was recommended to me, thanks to Scott’s approach to exercises which strengthen the supporting muscles. I’ve not only been able to remain active, but continue to play tennis which I credit to his strength training. Scott instills confidence and makes me feel like I am in the best hands with him,” says Sue
Without Scott keeping her motivated, Sue would never get to the gym four days per week. Having someone she enjoys meeting with, who is holding her accountable, has made it possible for her to consistently focus on my health. She recently stepped on the scale to find that she’s lost over 20 lbs since winter. She’s also noticed a significant change in her muscle mass and tone. Her blood pressure is down and her tennis game is way up. Sue never thought I would be this fit at 59 years old.
“I love the indoor tennis courts which allows me to play all year round. I also appreciate the personalized and highly professional staff. I have a new group of friends thanks to tennis. I loved playing in high school and college, and found it equally enjoyable all these years later, primarily thanks to the other players I have met, and our wonderful coach Mark.”
When asked if she would recommend Northwestern Medicine Huntley Health & Fitness Center, Sue says:
“Try out all the offerings. There is something for everyone, and if there isn’t, talk to the staff about personalizing your experience. I love to box and upon learning this, my trainer Scott is incorporating boxing into my workout routine, which has been very motivating.”
