Member Rebuilds His Physical and Mental Health after Motorcycle Accident

David Gonzalez’s life the last five years since his near fatal motorcycle accident has been hospitals and therapy.

He lost traditional therapy due to his lack of concentration. He didn’t know what to do and his mother longed for an avenue to help him.

“I wanted to seek a direction to help his brain and body heal more in a fun and challenging way.  Hoping water therapy lessons in the heated therapy pool would help, I called the Health & Fitness Center,” said David’s Mom.

Although being awkward at first, the staff, members, and healing waters therapist were so kind and understanding to David. It wasn’t long before David started having fun, making improvements as well as brain/body connections.  David’s improvements have been one miracle after another. David started going to the Health & Fitness Center one day and now goes at least two days a week.

David has moved from barely walking in the pool to actual swimming and collecting dive sticks from the deep end of the therapy pool. In addition, he has increased dramatically in mobility, balance, coordination,  and confidence.  David has so far surpassed all ideas of what I thought he could ever accomplish with water therapy. His quality of life has increased having more mind/body coordination, range of motion and confidence.
