Outdoor Splash and Play

Play, grow and make a splash in the pool.

Join this fun and engaging introduction to the water, designed for infants and toddlers to enjoy with their parents or caregivers. This program combines guided instruction with interactive play in the water to help build comfort, confidence and foundational water skills in a safe and supportive outdoor setting.

Day and time: Saturdays at 9:30 to 10:30 am
Dates: July 11 through August 15
Session length: Six weeks
Location: Outdoor Pool Play Area
Ages: Six months to three years old
Cost: $180 members, $190 nonmembers

Program details and overview.

Attend these six-week, one-hour sessions to encourage your child to be comfortable and safe in the water. This shared experience is also a great opportunity for you to bond with your child. Our sessions are a structured yet playful introduction to swimming, with limited distractions for young children.

Program structure:

30 minutes of instructor-led activities

  • Age-appropriate swim instruction
  • Water adjustment and comfort exercises
  • Songs, games and guided play led by a swim instructor

30 minutes of supervised free play

  • Open exploration in the Outdoor Pool Play Area
  • Continued skill practice through play
  • Social interaction with peers and families

Safety and supervision guidelines:

  • A parent or guardian must be in the water with their child at all times.
  • Sessions are supervised by a certified American Red Cross lifeguard and swim instructor.
  • This program is held during designated quiet pool hours to create a calm environment for young participants.

Weather policy:

In the event of inclement weather or unsafe conditions, a make-up date will be scheduled to ensure all participants receive the full program experience.
