What changes have been implemented to help keep you healthy and safe?
When do the pools reopen?
The pools reopen at Huntley and Crystal Lake on Wednesday, July 15. Pool users will be required to reserve their space in either the lap, leisure, or therapy pools.
Is there a cost to reserve time in the pool?
There is no additional cost, however, members will only be allowed to reserve up to four 30-minute sessions a week ahead of time. However, if you arrive on a day that you do not have a reserved time, you can check with the staff to see if spots are still available. These will be offered to members on a first-come, first-serve basis.
How do I reserve pool time?
This can be done weekly by stopping by the member services desk at either location or calling 815.444.2900. You will be asked which day, time, and pool you would like to reserve time in. You can book up to four 30-minute timeslots per week, with other available time offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Is there a maximum capacity?
Yes, we are only allowing one swimmer per lane in the Huntley leisure and lap pools and eight participants at a time in the therapy pool. At Crystal Lake, the capacities are one swimmer per lane in the lap pool, eight users in the leisure pool, and four users in the therapy pool. Physical distancing of 6 feet must be maintained at all times.
Are masks required?
Masks are required in the Northwestern Medicine Fitness Centers, unless physical distancing can be maintained. While in the pools and physical distancing is being maintained, masks will not be required.
Are the whirlpools, steam rooms, and saunas also opening?
Not at this time due to an abundance of caution. We will provide additional updates on when these services will return when they become available.
**Any of the aforementioned could be extended to meet updated CDC guidelines or Restore IL state mandates.
