Getting ready for your next marathon? Here are some of our favorite tips for a successful run.
1. Visualize Success
When you wake each day prior to the race, see yourself crossing the finish line and reaching your goal.
2. Choose the right clothes
Purchase running shoes made of Coolmax or nylon and clothes that doesn’t irritate your skin.
3. Eat Breakfast
Two to three hours before the start of your marathon, eat a carbohydrate-rich breakfast.
4. Warm Up
Walk around a bit in the half-hour before the start, and begin gentle stretching.
5. Keep Things Under Control
Take your time at the beginning of the marathon and then start racing when you’re well past the halfway point.
